Our son gave us the Bee Experience for Christmas 2023 and we were lucky with the weather the day we chose in late June 2024. Sam met us at Reception, we got suited up (leaving our belongings in a locked room) then proceeded to the hives. Sam explained everything clearly and concisely prior to opening the first hive. He took out each comb frame showing us the features of each and we found the Queen around the central frame. The second hive did not contain a Queen but it was still full of bees and Sam explained how they would go about installing a Queen into this hive. Following our experience we were treated to an excellent buffet spread. It was an 120-mile round trip for us but well worth it.

Today I went for a Bee experience which was headed by Sam. It was amazing, so much information and tips were given and it was so relaxed and even the bees were chilled too... We were all shown the tools, the hives and were involved in handling and separating the hives which was awesome. After lunch was laid on outside where we had a chat and got to sample their honey and also their chutneys, it was delicious. I have seriously had a super time today and can't wait for my little one to do this with me. Thank you so much Sam for a memorable experience and for all the information and advice you shared! Hope to see you again soon! Thank you.

Ordered for a present but delivery was late. Sam was very professional on the phone, explained the reason why. I love how it's so fresh. Sam delivered the honey in person with a lovely chutney to say sorry. Son said honey is amazing. Will definitely be ordering again.

It didn't happen!!! Arrived at BarleyLands and went to the entrance gate at 10-55am for the 11am start to be told the bee keeping experience had been cancelled due to bad weather!! We were told the cancellation had been sent by email or text!! Both my wife and I checked our phones, no such message!!!!! Travelled 60 miles for this!!! The weather was warm, overcast and no rain! This is a no star review!

Our first ever bee keeping experience, and it was absolutely lovely. I’ve been a parent for 23 years, and I’m always looking for something different to do with the kids. My youngest recently turned 8 and got some birthday money, and after a search on google, we came across bee keeping. We were welcomed at the farm entrance, and from start to finish, Sam the bee keeper, was so lovely, and we chatted like we’d known him for years. He answered all the questions we asked, and we found out some really interesting facts about bees and honey. We were well protected in lovely clean suits, and were offered drinks and refreshments afterwards. A complimentary jar of honey is currently in the post, and we were allowed to access the farm after the experience. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

I really enjoyed my time at the Beekeeping Experience, it was interesting and very informative and we got to taste some honey at the end of it which was delicious! The guys that run the course were clearly enthusiastic, knowledgeable and more than happy to answer any questions we had. It's a great way to spend an enjoyable few hours and come away with some knowledge and a basic understanding of what Beekeeping is about. It has certainly piqued my interest.

The BeeKeeping experience was very interesting and informative, and hands on. We got to handle one of the frames from the hive and saw what goes on. It is a great thing to do if you are interested in bees and/or thinking of becoming a beekeeper. A very nice lunch was provided after the experience and we also got to taste the honey straight from the hive which was delicious. I would thoroughly recommend the experience.

Wether you want to learn about keeping bees, or you just want to get up close and personal with a working hive this experience was fantastic. Course leader was very knowledgeable and I didn’t feel silly asking many different questions. The icing on the cake was getting to try some honey straight from the hive! Can’t wait to get started with my own bees - thank you 🐝
